James 1:27 exhorts us to care for the orphans and widows.
The exhortation is given to all Christians, but what that looks like lived out is different for everyone. Some are called to adopt! Some are called to encourage and visit, investing time! Some are called to support monetarily!

Please know that we have appreciated all of your prayer support and are grateful for the many who have invested time and money of your own in a young man's life who you did not know. We hope you will meet him some day soon. He will never know the amount and sacrifice made on his behalf, but I pray he will feel and truly know the love and acceptance from you! God bless!

Highlights from the first 2 weeks!

He had his friend, Max, who he knew in China, over for the afternoon.  They had a good time just playing, speaking Chinese and catching up on the last couple of years.

Church camp-out
We had not planned to go for overnight, but we decided it would be a good time for Levi to get to know the kids, while there was a lot of playing to be had....and he didn't have to worry about communicating vocally.  There is a language of play, that just includes following and having fun.  Although I have to say...neither Levi or the other kids seemed to shy away from trying to communicate verbally!

This was a highlight for Levi...making S'Mores!
He loves the water!
Cold!
Chalk drawing in the driveway
Welcome Home and Birthday Party!
The Simonsen family opened their backyard to the happy occasion, and we had many family, church family and friends.  Thank you to all for making it a happy time for Levi!
Lots of people went in on a group gift, to get Levi a bike.
In America, people very tall!
Much time is spent on the bike the next day.  Riding a bike is not a new experience.
For his birthday dinner, we took him to Dynasty.  Rice and veggies are a hit.
Sucker faces!
Tyler, Ana, and Isaac went with us to dinner.
