James 1:27 exhorts us to care for the orphans and widows.
The exhortation is given to all Christians, but what that looks like lived out is different for everyone. Some are called to adopt! Some are called to encourage and visit, investing time! Some are called to support monetarily!

Please know that we have appreciated all of your prayer support and are grateful for the many who have invested time and money of your own in a young man's life who you did not know. We hope you will meet him some day soon. He will never know the amount and sacrifice made on his behalf, but I pray he will feel and truly know the love and acceptance from you! God bless!

Datong, China

Here are a few tidbits of information of the area where Levi is from.  Datong is in the  Shanxi province, in northern China.  It is on the border of the Mongolian grasslands.  8 hour train ride from Beijing

*  POPULATION:  3.11 million

*  CLIMATE:  4 seasons; semi arid; long, cold winters; humid, very warm summers; precipitation sparse 14.7 inches per year.

*  INDUSTRY:  Dominate industry is coal mining; reputation is one of China's most polluted cities. (Hmmm, a reoccurring theme wherever we go!)

*  TOURISM:  Yungang Grottoes-1500 years old; collection of shallow caves with 50,000 carved images & statues of Buddhas (oh yea!)   Hanging Monastery Temple...built into the face of a cliff (I want to go up there!)
